In an updated posted to their official website, Cake is in the studio working on new material. Cake is one of the few artists that have built a community with their fans, staying active with current updates and taking an active interest in environmental issues and public policy.
Currently the band in the final stages of completing their new album, which has yet to be titled. In support for their upcoming release, the band is on the road with scheduled performances through September. Possibly one of the most deliciously named bands, Cake was formed in 1991, though their first single “Rock ‘n’ Roll Lifestyle” wasn’t released until 1993. From there they released their first studio album Motorcade of Generosity. Next, the band signed with a label in 1994 and their album went national.
The current members of Cake are John McCrea, Vince DiFiore, Xan McCurdy, Gabe Nelson and Andrew Griffin. The band has released five studio albums: Motorcade of Generosity (1994); Fashion Nugget (1996); Prolonging the Magic (1998); Comfort Eagle (2001); and Pressure Chief (2004).
